An articulated awning (folding-arm awning) is a classic façade-mounted awning whose jointed arms extend outwards to tension the fabric. It provides cost-effective shade with a wide projection for balconies, terraces, cafés and shopfronts.
Sizes and projection
- Can be installed on areas at least 185 cm wide.
- Arms can project up to 350 cm; this applies to awnings up to 6 m wide.
- Projection is determined in proportion to the awning width.
Not every size suits an articulated awning, so during the survey we assess whether a bellows awning or cassette awning would be a better alternative.
Fabric and equipment
- Polyester and acrylic awning fabrics; any awning fabric can be used.
- Manual (crank) or motorised operation with remote control.
- Sun and wind sensors so the awning opens and closes automatically and is protected in strong wind.

Up to a certain size the price difference is small; for example, there is no significant difference between 1.85 m and 3 m wide awnings. For a firm price, request a site survey.
